Corralejo, Fuerteventura To Get New Wind Farm For Desalination Plant

Work on the wind farm in Corralejo on Fuerteventura to power the towns desalination plant has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. When the turbines enter into service it is expected that they will generate twice as much power as the desalination plant will need.
The Water Supply company, (CAFF), for Fuerteventura, (one of the Canary Islands,) is in charge of the project, which will cost an estimated 2 million Euros.
CAAF and president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Mario Cabrera said "This wind farm will generate profits that help optimize production costs and maintain the policy assumed by CAAF and the council not to increase water rates. The Corralejo desalination plant will have two next-generation wind turbines installed by the company Drace, each with capacity to produce 850 kilowatts per hour.
This is good news for the islands enviroment, fuel cost and ties in with the islands new Bio-sphere status.

European Language Day Spanish, Canary Islands, Norwegian , French, German, Polish, get on with your European neighbors learn the skills to communic

European Language Day Spanish, Canary Islands, Norwegian , French, German, Polish, get on with your European neighbors learn the skills to communicate.

If "bon jaw" is the extent of your foreign lingo skills - you're not alone.

The Brits are notoriously bad at speaking foreign languages. According to a report by the European Commission, 62% of us can't speak any other language. We're officially the worst language learners in Europe.

The cringe worthy British holidaymaker treating the intelligent native as a slightly deaf, mentally challenged child, is a woefully common scene played out across the holiday resorts of the world and Europe such as Spain , Canary Islands, France,, Germany, infact wherever Brits wander.

But it doesn't have to be like this. European Languages Day, (26th September 2009) was created to encourage a love for languages, and to celebrate it, Learning the basics of the language of the country you're visiting is not only polite but fun, useful and will enrich your travel experience. so surprise the locals and impress your mates with our mini language guides.

New Sea Route Linking, Canary Islands, Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura to Valencia, Spain

The shipping and ferry company “Boluda” is starting a new sea route from Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands to Valencia, Spain.

It is hoped that with the start of this new route with the Spanish mainland goods will arrive sooner and in better condition in the Canary Islands. This will be a weekly service for commercial goods and vehicles and offer ongoing routes to other European destinations by the same shipping company. This is good news for people buying Real Estate in Fuerteventura as now it will be easier to furnish their new properties that they buy and of course owners wanting to bring furniture and personal items over to the island from other European countries
