Goldacre Estates Fuerteventura wish you a Merry Christmas
As one year closes and another opens we all felt this message is the perfect sentiment, as we should all remember that in life we are given a special gift! Each persons gift is the ability to impact on everyone we touch whether it by thought, word or deed. TOO BUSY TO A FRIEND One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much." were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. Several years later, one of the students was killed in Viet Nam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot." After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. "We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it." Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obvi o usly been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him. "Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it." All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home." Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album." "I have mine too," Marilyn said "It's in my diary." Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists." That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again. The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be. So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late. And One Way To Accomplish This Is: Send this message on. If you do not send it, you will have, once again passed up the wonderful opportunity to do something nice and beautiful. If you've received this, it is because someone cares for you and it means there is probably at least someone for whom you care. If you're "too busy" to take those few minutes right now to forward this message on, would this be the VERY first time you didn't do that little thing that would make a difference in your relationships? The more people that you send this to, the better you'll be at reaching out to those you care about. Remember, you reap what you sow. What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own. Interest rates effect on the world Real Estate market, Canary Islands, Spain. European real estate sector, Golf property, and beach front investments
UK interest Rate Drop effects overseas Property Purchase Will the interest rate drop make any difference at all? Interest rates have been shaved – but that might not be enough to dig into the debt mountain At first glance, a rate cut of just 0.25 per cent does not seem much – but for some people, the Bank of England’s decision could make the difference between drowning in a sea of debt and keeping their heads above water. Assuming that mortgage lenders pass on the full reduction – as some of the major lenders are doing – a person with a £100,000, interest-only, 25-year house loan will have to find around £20 less a month – double that if their mortgage is £200,000. This could be enough to prevent thousands of people defaulting and even having their homes repossessed. But for the rest of us, the first Base Rate cut in two years is going to mean little in terms of our borrowings. Good news, bad news The good news of a modest cut will be outweighed by further bad news. The inter-bank lending rate – the amount of interest banks charge each other for loans – is substantially higher than the Bank of England rate and has been for almost all of 2007. That means people whose fixed-rate mortgage terms are coming to an end are going to face paying much higher interest. They are going to have to look hard to find a new bargain. And those with debts outstanding on their credit cards, which usually charge much more interest than mortgages, are going to find it tough going, too. Credit card lenders are becoming stricter about who they will allow a card and whether they will permit balance transfers at beneficial rates. Many more credit applicants are being turned down than in recent years. Finding the key The key to getting a good loan deal – whether you need a mortgage, credit card or other loan – is to have a good credit report. Your credit report, which lists your financial history, shows where you’ve been granted and applied for credit and how well you have managed your repayments. Your credit history is a major factor in the decision whether to offer you a loan and on what terms – including the interest rate charged. You should check your credit report to ensure that everything in it is completely up to date and accurately reflects your circumstances. To see what lenders see, you can take a free 30-day trial of CreditExpert, the online credit monitoring and identity fraud protection service from Experian. CreditExpert will also provide you with a wealth of hints and tips about improving your credit rating, give you the chance to order your credit score – an indicator of your chances of being granted credit – and send alerts that tell you if there is a major change in your credit report, which could be an early sign of identity fraud. See your free Experian credit report now. It could be the first step towards a more secure financial future. The Best News. Of course all of the above , Interest Rate reductions , Good Credit History is meaningless unless you have a stable market place to invest in. CHRISTMAS COMES TO CORRALEJO
The Christmas lights are now on at the El Campanario Shopping Centre and they are beautiful. You can see the lights from far away as they reach right to the top of the bell tower which is the highest point in Corralejo. (El Campanario is Spanish for bell tower). The top of the tower now has an angel at each corner. Spanish Christmas carols will be sung by children from all over the island on each Saturday leading up to Christmas. El Campanario is a replica of a typical Canarian village where visitors can browse through open-air Canarian streets whilst shopping in the up-market shops which include mens and ladies clothes shops, sports shops, opticians, cosmetics and leather shops. There is also a large supermarket and, for drivers, an underground car park. On the first and third Sunday of each month a Canarian market is set up in the square, where you can buy objects of art, flowers, local fruit and vegetables and many other items. If you don’t like shopping it is still a good place to go as you can sit at a table in the plaza enjoying a drink while watching the world go by. If you want to take in the views of Corralejo, Lobos and Lanzarote you can ascend to the top of the bell tower where the view is amazing. This new shopping centre is definitely a place not to be missed, especially at this time of year. Labels: christmas, corralejo, el campanario, fuerteventura, shopping
