Canary Islands and Fuerteventura Flights
As we have been reporting in our blogs a whole raft of new flights and increased frequency of existing flights have been announced since our last newsletter. This is great news for all the canary Islands and in Particular for Fuerteventura who lost the Ryan Air flights at the beginning of the year. Below we have tried to sort out which airline has announced new flights recently
Palmair is returning to Exeter airport for the first time in a decade this winter with flights to Fuerteventura, after already announcing flights to the same destination from Bournemouth.
Monarch will be adding two flights a week which will operate from Manchester to Fuerteventura plus weekly services from Birmingham, Gatwick and Luton.
Gran Canaria will be served by two new flights a week from Birmingham and Manchester and a weekly connection from Gatwick. The airline is also stepping up frequency to Tenerife.
The introduction of new services to Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria brings the total number of routes operated by Monarch for summer 2010 to 49.
*New route Fuerteventura - two flights a week from Manchester and one flight a week from Birmingham, Gatwick and Luton
*New route Gran Canaria - two flights a week from Birmingham and Manchester and one flight per week from Gatwick
*Increased frequency: Birmingham-Tenerife - six flights a week
*Increased frequency: Gatwick-Tenerife - seven flights a week
*Increased frequency: Luton-Tenerife - seven flights a week
*Increased frequency: Gatwick-Lanzarote - up to six flights a week
*Increased frequency: Manchester-Lanzarote - up to seven flights a week.
Jet2.com has announced three new routes for the summer of 2010 from Manchester airport to Gran Canaria.The announcement came as Ryanair dislcosed plans to cut routes from the Manchester airport. Jet2.com has also increased the frequency of its summer 2010 services to Lanzarote

Easyjet The low cost carrier is to serve Fuerteventura from Liverpool and Stansted and Lanzarote from Liverpool. The new flights start on the 2nd November (Liverpool-Fuerteventura)
RyanAir will be starting 15 new flights into Lanzarote, which is good news for Lanzarote and also for Fuerteventura which is only a 12 minute ferry crossing with Fred Olsen from Lanzarote. The flights will commence from late October from various UK airports and run until the 31st of March 2010 and possibly beyond. A total of 39 new routes will run this winter from three islands. The services will start in October from Gran Canaria (16), Lanzarote (15) and Tenerife (8) as Ryanair switches aircraft away from Stansted and Dublin
Added to this and a Canadian company, Harbour Air Seaplanes have approached the Canarian port authorities in Los Llanos on the island of La Palma and Santa Catalina in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria to seek approval to begin flights between the islands with more services to follow for other islands.

Its good news that there are going to be lots of new flights direct to Fuerteventura
David we are excited about the opportunities that these new flight announcememnts offers visitors to Fuerteventura and of course everyone benefits including the local business community, owners who already own property here on Fuerteventura.
