Fuerteventura Cycle Track Network

Fuerteventura has announced the creation of 32 kilometres of new cycle paths to be added to the Islands existing network.

The 2.9 million Euro project will be carried out across several Municipalities including La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario, Antigua and Tuineje.
In La Oliva the link between El Cotillo and Lajares is virtually complete and the next section from Lajares to Corralejo has already started, the cycle track is due to be completed early 2009.
In Puerto del Rosario the cycle path will follow the city ring road with links into the city centre, and approximately half of the project is already complete.
The other municipalities are finalising the plans and acquiring the land but it is hoped that the entire project will be completed by the end of 2009.
