Success for Tree Planting Scheme

The campaign to replant trees on the island has been a success according to sources. In the two years that this initiative has been in progress in different parts of the island 80% of the 5,000 shrubs, trees and plants that were planted have survived.

Most are located on the higher grounds of the island, in areas such as Velosa Morro and Castillo de Lara, Betancuria, or Pico de La Zarza in Jandia, etc. More replanting projects are promised for the future.
