Green Issues always important in today’s World

With one of the cleanest environments in the world today and with low air pollution Green Isssue’s and further improvements in our environment are still at the forefront of everyone’s minds including the local town halls and government bodies.
Recycling has received worldwide publicity it has gone to extremes in parts of UK such as having micro chips in the bottom of your rubbish bins to check on what type of rubbish is being disposed of and of course has created a huge new business sector.
Here in Fuerteventura recycling has been a culturally slow development although we now have bottle, paper and plastic banks in many areas. To further promote this and set an example the Town Hall in Puerto del Rosario has started a number of internal initiatives for paper collection and special water systems which are expected to save around 4000 litres of water per person which on an Island that has very little rain is a significant amount of savings on our resources.
Further initiatives in terms of protecting the environment will see further investment in windfarms in the north of the Island.
